Determining whether Manchester United is better than Tottenham Hotspur is subjective and can vary depending on various factors such as recent performance, historical success, squad strength, and individual preferences. It is important to note that opinions on this matter can differ among football fans. However, let's analyze a few key aspects that can contribute to this comparison:
1. Historical Success:
Manchester United has a rich history and has won numerous domestic and international titles. They have won the English league title a record 20 times, including 13 Premier League titles. They have also won the UEFA Champions League three times. On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur has a less extensive trophy cabinet, with two English league titles and two UEFA Cup (now Europa League) titles. In terms of historical success, Manchester United has a more illustrious record.
2. Recent Performance:
In recent years, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have had their ups and downs. Manchester United experienced a decline after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, but they have shown signs of improvement under current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They finished third in the 2019-2020 Premier League season and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League in the same season. Tottenham Hotspur, under manager Mauricio Pochettino, had a successful period from 2015 to 2019, reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. However, they have struggled to maintain consistency in recent seasons. It is worth noting that recent performance can fluctuate and is subject to change.
3. Squad Strength:
Assessing the strength of a squad is subjective and can change with transfers and injuries. Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have talented players in their respective squads. Manchester United boasts players like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, and Marcus Rashford, while Tottenham Hotspur has Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Hugo Lloris. Squad depth and individual player performances can influence the overall assessment of squad strength.
4. Head-to-Head Record:
Analyzing head-to-head records between the two teams can provide some insight. In the Premier League era, Manchester United has generally had the upper hand against Tottenham Hotspur, winning more matches. However, it's important to note that head-to-head records can vary over time and are not the sole determinant of overall superiority.
In conclusion, determining whether Manchester United is better than Tottenham Hotspur is subjective and can depend on various factors. While Manchester United has a more successful historical record, recent performance and squad strength can fluctuate. It is essential to consider multiple aspects and perspectives when making this comparison.

My first match in 30 years. Last time I saw Spurs in person, I sat with my dad in the very last row at the Lane (don't remember which stand, though I seem to recall that the away supporters were down to my left). Tomorrow I'm taking my kids, and spoiling them (and myself) having spent far too much on seats. Excited for the tifo, the drum, and most of all the Angeball.

United looked awful against wolves but we all know United always turn up against Tottenham. It’s going to be a battle.
