There are several tech jobs that are currently in high demand due to the rapid growth of technology and the digital transformation across industries. Here are some examples of tech jobs that are experiencing high demand:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Specialists: With the increasing use of AI and ML in various fields, there is a significant demand for professionals who can develop, implement, and maintain AI/ML systems. These specialists work on tasks like natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics. According to LinkedIn's 2021 Emerging Jobs Report, AI Specialist roles have seen a 74% annual growth rate in the past four years.

2. Data Scientists and Analysts: As organizations gather vast amounts of data, the need for professionals who can analyze and interpret this data to drive business insights is growing rapidly. Data scientists and analysts use statistical techniques, data mining, and visualization tools to uncover patterns and make data-driven decisions. The demand for data scientists has increased by 46% since 2019, according to LinkedIn.

3. Cybersecurity Experts: With the rise in cyber threats and data breaches, the demand for cybersecurity professionals has skyrocketed. These experts protect computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, develop security protocols, and ensure data privacy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 31% growth in the employment of information security analysts from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations.

4. Cloud Architects and Engineers: As more businesses move their infrastructure to the cloud, there is a need for professionals who can design, deploy, and manage cloud-based systems. Cloud architects and engineers work on tasks like cloud migration, capacity planning, and optimizing cloud infrastructure. According to the 2020 State of the Cloud Report by Flexera, 93% of enterprises have a multi-cloud strategy, driving the demand for cloud experts.

5. Full-Stack Developers: These developers have expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies, making them versatile in developing web and mobile applications. They are proficient in programming languages like JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like React and Node.js. Full-stack developers are in high demand as businesses seek to build digital products and enhance their online presence.

These are just a few examples of tech jobs in high demand, and the list is continually evolving as technology advances. It's important to note that demand can vary based on location, industry, and emerging technologies. Consulting job portals, industry reports, and surveys like LinkedIn's Emerging Jobs Report or Stack Overflow Developer Survey can provide more insights and specific trends in tech job demand.

Exactly this. I am working as a Cloud Solution Architect at FAANG, but customers are just valuing that I can do whatever needs to be done and I am not picky about it and instead trying to give as much value as possible. Not talking bullshit, but I am receiving great feedback. Even though some things might not be 100% perfect it’s still better than having nothing on the customers side and most of the time they are just thankful that there was help and something to build on. But I have also colleagues who are just sitting in their niche and rejecting stuff. I am programming in whatever language, giving trainings, helping with research, … And I love it.

IMO, the best bet in this market is to be a versatile backend engineer with strong core knowledge and the ability to apply it fast. This includes, but is not limited to: writing backend services that do highly specific business tasks, automating workflows, deploying pipelines, optimising workloads, creating APIs, managing large databases, making observability dashboards, etc. Being a jack of all trades allows your employer to use your skills for a broad range of business problems. Whereas being a master of one thing forces you to find an employer who needs those specific skills. Popular technologies run their course and get replaced by new fads every year, but those with core skillsets tend to stick around.

Cloud architect is not exactly a role that juniors can apply into just like that. It's more of a role that experienced admin/dev transition into overtime.

You don't really need a PhD in math anymore. All the hard mathy bits are handled by libraries or pre built models now.

I'm a god at constructing google searches. This skill transferred over extremely smoothly to prompt engineering. Because writing prompts was so easy for me, I figured it was that way for everyone. Until I saw other people using ChatGPT. Turns out most people are brain dead as fuck
