Emmanuel Nude, also known as the Owelle of Abagana, etched his name in the annals of financial history through an audacious scheme. Posing as a Nigerian banking luminary, Nwude convinced an international bank to invest a staggering $242 million in a nonexistent airport in Abuja, Nigeria.
The web of deception involved accomplices and complex transactions, ultimately causing significant losses for the bank. Nwude and his associates were apprehended, tried, and imprisoned, with some assets eventually recovered.
After his release, Nude faced legal hurdles in recovering assets and intriguingly claimed ignorance of the $242 million scam, leaving a lingering mystery in his wake.
