A $15 Million Class Action Settlement has been agreed upon over A&W Root Beer. A&W root beer and cream soda is manufactured and distributed by Keurig Dr Pepper, a "leading producer and distributor of hot and cold beverages". According to the A&W class action lawsuit, A&W was falsely advertised as containing natural vanilla, when it had artificial vanilla flavoring. Specifically, the root beer was labeled as “Made With Aged Vanilla”.
You may qualify if you purchased certain A&W cream sodas or root beers between February 7, 2016 and June 2, 2023. The A&W root beers that qualify are as follows:
Proof or documentation of purchase is not required in order to file a claim in the A&W Dr Pepper Root Beer and Cream Soda Class Action Settlement.
The Dr Pepper A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda Class Action Settlement will be divided into two classes of claimants: Those who have proof of purchase, and those who do not provide a valid proof of purchase with their claim form.
• Without Proof of Purchase: Consumers who will file a claim form without evidence of purchase will get a settlement payment of $5.50, pro-rated. This means that the payment will be subject to adjustments based on the total amount of valid and timely claim forms filed.
• With Proof of Purchase: Those that send a claim form attached with valid evidence of purchase can receive a minimum of $5.50 per claim, with a capped maximum of $25.00. This amounts to 39 units paid out at $0.50 per unit or product purchased, with proof of purchase. In this case, a unit can one of, but not limited to the following:
