Tekton 1/4 inch drive ratchets have a 90-tooth gear that produces a working swing arc of 4 degrees. The single half-moon pawl maintains 9 teeth engaged with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress. The soft overmold grip and rounded oval shape of the comfort grip handle support your palm and fingers. The flex head moves 180-degrees, snapping into 9 different detent angles. The classic non-quick-release drive tang retains sockets with a spring-actuated detent ball—push the sockets onto the ratchet and pull to remove them. Unlike conventional \"low profile\" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: length, width, and height. Tekton ratchets meet (and most far exceed) the industry standard for proof torque, a measure of strength verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or any permanent deformation. The spinner handle is made of a 6.5 inch steel extension that runs all the way through an aluminum handle and is permanently pressed in place.
