Jean Marie Farina's perfumes were used by Napoleon and royalty throughout Europe. In 1862 Armand Roger and Charles Gallet created the Parfumerie Roger & Gallet and purchased the "House of Jean Marie Farina." Roger & Gallet's signature round soaps in pleated silk paper were introduced in 1879. In the 1930's, Roger & Gallet was known for its beautiful art deco packaging.
