Myrurgia is a Spanish fragrance house that was founded in 1916 in Barcelona by the Monegal family. Ramon Monegal was a successful businessman, and contributed his monetary investment and marketing expertise to the company.
His son, Esteban Monegal Prat, was the primary artistic force behind the company, perfumery. Prat also placed great emphasis on the overall presentation of the fragrances, particularly with respect to the bottles the company used to house the fragrances. Its first fragrance was released in 1918.
