Myla Chandler2 years agoQuick overview- My father and I started a small business in the Motorsports industry 3 months ago. Investment to this point 50k in inventory. $0 cost for store floor space or utilities. We’ve only created a business page on Facebook 1 month ago, and spent $0 on advertising besides some stickers to give out, everything had just been word of mouth. Month 1 - gross 4k sales Month 2 - gross 6k sales Month 3 - gross 10k sales Month 4 is on track to possibly hit 12k gross if it keeps going like it has been. Only 2 “local” businesses sell the same type products we sell. 1 is about 30 minutes away, the other is an hour away. Both have been upset about our little business venture, but everything has remained civil until this week. They both have called our largest distributor asking to have our account terminated because we are just doing it as a “hobby” (our distributor saw through that without question and dismissed the claims). Now they have started a smear campaign against us. I have full plans to keep growing and continue business as usual. We are not going away, or selling out. But how would others handle the situation, how would you advertise going forward?4117
