We've been together for 6 months, so it's not something I expect to happen soon. My parents didn’t really teach me much about dating or marriage, so I’m wondering, what is marriage truly for? Is it just for companionship, love, or financial reasons? I’d like to hear your perspective on the purpose of marriage—not the act of getting married, but the idea of staying with someone forever. I’m very independent, and while I want to get married someday, I also think part of me has commitment issues and sometimes feels like I never want to get married at all.1561
