Martha Luann2 months agoI'm married, and my spouse’s family does this Secret Santa thing using an app, where everyone is matched up, and you can create a wishlist. It turns out that my spouse was assigned as my Secret Santa, but didn’t mention anything to me or get me a gift. When I confronted him, he said it was because I already have everything I want and I’m independent (since I work really hard). I found out from one of his siblings at a family gathering, and it was really embarrassing. This situation has me wondering if it’s a sign that there’s something wrong with our marriage—does that even matter? I feel like I’m overthinking things, but it’s not about the gifts, it’s about the principle. Why lie about it and then brush it off like it’s nothing? Couldn’t he have at least told me he wasn’t going to get me anything, or given me a card? I tried to talk to him about it, but he never admits when he’s wrong. Am I overreacting?147
