Iosif Marinaa month agoI (30F) find myself in a challenging situation regarding my engagement to my fiancé (36M). We have been together for about two years and share a deep love and happiness. Recently, I had to attend a court hearing concerning child support for my daughter with my ex-husband. The process went smoothly, and I thought everything was on track. However, when I called the courthouse today to obtain the final divorce date so I could apply for a marriage license with my fiancé, I was shocked to discover that my divorce wasn't finalized until just last month. It turns out that I had mistakenly believed it was finalized three years ago, but we were only legally separated. My fiancé is understandably upset and feels betrayed. He is furious with me, and I’m devastated by the realization of this mistake. We have never had any issues of infidelity in our relationship, and we have been living together happily. But now, it seems like our engagement is on the brink of collapse. I know I need to find a way to mend things and show him that I truly value our relationship. I’m reaching out for advice on how to navigate this situation and hopefully save our engagement. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!11.2K
