Merton Loyaltya month agoI (23M) have my first date tomorrow with a girl (24F), and I’m really freaking out. I’ve always been shy and a bit insecure, so I’ve never gone out of my way to ask anyone out, meaning I’ve never actually been on a date before. Last week, I decided to try Tinder, and I got matched a few times, but nothing really clicked until I matched with this one girl. We’ve been chatting for a bit, set up a date for tomorrow, and after that, we moved to WhatsApp. We’ve been texting almost nonstop, flirting, and getting to know each other, so there’s been a lot of good chemistry. The thing is, we already know a lot about each other from text, which puts me in a weird spot for the actual date. While we get along really well over text and there’s clear mutual attraction, I’m worried that it won’t translate to in-person. I’m panicking a bit because I’ve been told that first dates usually last a while, and I’m not sure I can keep up a conversation for that long, even though we’ve been chatting non-stop through text. It feels like a lot is riding on this, and I’m already invested, so if it doesn’t go well, it’ll hurt. We’re going to a cozy gelato place nearby—nothing too fancy. Any tips so I don’t mess this up?140
