Here’s what happened: She commented on a post by this guy who was talking about being a recovering alcoholic, offering her support, which I thought was nice. He messaged her right after, and they started texting. Then, they added each other on Snapchat, which caught me off guard. She never randomly adds anyone she doesn’t know, so this was unusual for her. At first, she told me it was just to start a new streak, which didn’t sit right with me. Later on, she started talking more about this guy—his struggles with alcohol, his kids, and his life—which seemed like more than just the casual conversation that comes with a streak. It felt like she was getting to know him, which confused me. When I asked her how she added him on Snapchat, she said she thinks she added him from a QR code on his Facebook story. However, I remember her telling me he gave her his username through Messenger. I also found a note on her phone with his username in it, which she said she didn’t know how it got locked, but that’s still odd to me. It just felt strange to me that she'd have someone else's username written down like that—especially when she doesn’t do that with anyone else. I'm not really concerned about who she adds on Snapchat or how many people she talks to, but the whole situation feels off, and I can't shake the feeling that she might not be telling me the whole truth. I know I might be overthinking it, but I’m unsure whether I’m being paranoid or if my instincts are picking up on something that I should be concerned about. What should I do?146
