Tenuta Polvaro 2021 Pinot Grigio, Venezia

Tenuta Polvaro in the Venzia DOC is an estate that dates back to the 1600's. The De Zan family, makers of the Candoni wines, have restored it to modern grandeur and have a state-of-the-art winemaking facility here. The property is located just northeast of Venice, close enough to the Adriatic to have a very balanced, warm microclimate. Here the Pinot Grigio grapes grown on their estate ripen fully and take on a richness not often seen in Italian Pinot Grigio. Modern vinification allows the wine to fully express the delightful character if this compelling grape variety. The Tenuta Polvaro Pinot Grigio D.O.C. preparation requires a soft pressing. The must is then vinified for 8 days at 18° C, to maintain freshness and a fruity note. The wine rests on the lees for 6 months contained in stainless steel tanks with daily bâtonnage and matures in French Oak barriques.
