La Lomita 2021 Islay Hill Vineyard Grenache, Edna Valley

The VanderHorst family created La Lomita Wines with winemaker Mikey Giugni. Together they craft unique, one of a kind wines you won't find anywhere else. Each wine is crafted to embody the surrounding areas found on the Central Coast of California. La Lomita Ranch's Islay Hill Estate vineyard is the only vineyard that currently exists on the first of the Nine Sisters a volcanic morrow in San Luis Obispo County. Winemaker's Notes The Estate Grenache has aromas of currants, herbs de provence and tobacco. On entry, the palate is rich with flavors of red plum, stewed strawberries and spice with a velvet, slightly smoky finish. Wine Enthusiast scored this 94 points saying, "Fresh and joyous aromas of alpine strawberries and dark red flowers invite the nose deeply into this bottling from a volcanic plug. The palate slides into even darker territory, offering boysenberry, cracked pepper and a ripping acidity to drive long into the finish." 750 ml
