Solaia 2020 Toscana IGT, Marchesi Antinori

The Solaia vineyard is a 50-acre vineyard located on the Tignanello estate. It has ideal southwestern exposure, and stony soils of hard limestone and flaky calcareous clay; "alberese" and “galestro”. The Antinori family produced the first bottling from this single vineyard in 1978 and Solaia is only produced in exceptional vintages. 2019 was another outstanding vintage considered among the finest and resulting in grapes ripened to perfection. A Super Tuscan blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Franc aged 18 months in French oak Barrels, this 2020 has received outstanding praise. James Suckling scored this 98 points saying, "Subtle and beautiful on the nose with currants, flowers and light sage aromas that follow through to a full body with ultra-fine tannins and a long and flavorful finish.
