Domaine Sirugue-Noellat 2021 Les Barreaux, Vosne Romanee

A very new domaine in Burgundy but not unfamiliar names, Arnaud et Sophie was established by husband-and-wife duo Arnaud Sirugue and Sophie Noëllat, both from celebrated Vosne-Romanée estates – Robert Sirugue and Michel Noëllat respectively. Vosne-Romanée is the most prestigious appellation in Burgundy. Its vineyards include renowned Grand Cru vineyards which produce some of the world’s most coveted wines. There are also seventeen Premier Crus in Vosne-Romanée. Wine writer Clive Coates has called Vosne-Romanée “the greatest Pinot Noir village on earth” and notes that the appellation’s style “is for wines which are rich, austere, sensual, masculine and aristocratic.” This wine is sourced from their family plot of “Les Barreaux” that is located along the border of Cros Parantoux.
