Château Le Tertre de Caussan is a family-owned business where each generation writes its own chapter in history by bringing its own personality. Each generation shows respect for nature, terroir and quality of work. All the plots have been certified High Environmental Value since 2019 then certified Organic Agriculture since September 2021. Located in Blaignan in the heart of the Médoc appellation, the estate is established on clay-limestone soils, around a mill located on a mound, "tertre" in french: Le Tertre de Caussan. The wine-estate was created in the 1930s by Oscar Long, great-grandfather of Nicolas Caussan, the current winemaker. At the time, there were 3 hectares of vines. During the 1970s, Guy Caussan, Nicolas' father, decided to orient the production towards monoculture of the vine and developed the size of the vineyard up to 18 hectares.
